Chester Select Board approves demand fee hike and three administrative policies. Tax Collector Terry Donovan secured unanimous Board approval to raise the delinquent tax demand fee from $5 to $15, citing widespread non-compliance; the Board also unanimously abated $9,658.74 in uncollectable real estate taxes from 2011 through 2019. Chair John Baldasaro, Vice Chair Craig Gauthier, and member Brian Forgue unanimously approved an Accident Reporting Policy, a Use of Town Counsel Policy directing requests through the Town Administrator or Clerk, a Health Insurance Opt-Out Policy, and the corresponding opt-out form.
Water Department Director Bob Daley briefed the Board on a Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness grant application under EPA and Audubon Society involvement to address financial constraints.
