Board of Health approves condemnation of Route 20 property, pursues legal action on septic inspection.

CHESTER — The Chester Board of Health unanimously voted to condemn the residence at 166 Route 20 after the owner completed major plumbing and electrical repairs, requiring him to clear the exterior by April 1 and submit a rehabilitation plan by May 1. The board also voted unanimously to direct town counsel to enforce a legal order requiring the owner of 180 Route 20 to submit to a Title V septic inspection after no response since July 2025. Board Chair Nick Chiusano reviewed the status of multiple receivership properties, including 171 Prospect Road, where a buyer has completed a perc test and intends to rebuild, and 664 Route 20, where the owner has made substantial progress on rehabilitation work.
