Board of Health meets on condemnation and transfer station repairs.

Board of Health · Meeting of February 4, 2026

Chester Board of Health votes to condemn 28 Middlefield Road after owner fails to appear at hearing. Chair Nick Chiusano's motion passed unanimously; the property must be boarded, secured, and cleaned by August 20, with demolition possible after one year if code violations persist. In separate action, the board reviewed a $24,894 compactor replacement quote from Maguire Equipment for the transfer station, which includes phase-inverter installation.

Chiusano will confirm three-phase power availability with CMELD. Health Agent Charlie Kaniecki is pursuing receivership on multiple properties with septic failures and code violations, with September 1 deadline set for 6 Sylvester Hamilton Road.
