Chester Municipal Electric Light Department approves lineman apprentice raise for Cooper Chechile.

CHESTER — The Chester Municipal Electric Light Department Commissioners approved a step-raise schedule for Lineman Apprentice Cooper Chechile designed to incrementally increase his wages through completion of his four-year NEPPA program, bringing him to a percentage of Journeyman Lineman wages. Chair Lori Fieldstad directed Manager Diane Hall to schedule a meeting with Alan Robinson, the retiring manager of Russell Municipal Electric Department, to discuss a potential partnership as Robinson considers part-time work. Hall reported that Harper's Payroll will implement a new timecard system requiring employees to punch in and out for a half-hour unpaid lunch starting with the next payroll cycle.
The board rejected a proposal to visit Templeton to observe a combined water and electric division, finding no benefit to CMELD.
