Cultural Council awards $7,614 in arts funding from 22 applications.

CHESTER — The Chester Cultural Council approved $7,614 in grant awards across 16 funded projects from 22 applications requesting $20,045. Chair Muriel Hall's council distributed funds from $5,700 in Massachusetts Cultural Council state support and $1,914 in local Chester Cultural Council reserves. Major awards included $1,250 each to Chester Theatre Company and Littleville Fair; $650 each to Chester Historical Society and Sevenars; and $500 each to Mass MoCA Field Trip, Guest Artist Series, Build Your World, Hilltown Families Suggests, North Halls Arts Festival, Chester on Track, the Community Garden at the Huntington Public Library, and Chester Granite Saw Interpretive Signage.

Seven applicants were declined on grounds of failing to meet local criteria or insufficient available funding.
