CHESTER — Finance Committee approves employee compensation increases while holding most budget lines flat. The committee unanimously level funded the Recreation Committee budget despite a significant increase request, and granted the Council on Aging director a 3 percent cost-of-living adjustment while level funding the rest of the COA budget. Most town employees will receive a 3 percent cost-of-living increase and 2 percent performance bonus, except the custodian, Council on Aging staff, and new hires.
Vocational education costs are assessed at $22,559 per student for Smith, with Westfield enrollment numbers pending; the transportation contract, in its final year of a three-year agreement, will be reviewed at contract renewal.
