CHESTER — Hamilton Memorial Library trustees address frozen-pipe repairs and seek grant funding. Chair Karen Savoy convened the board on February 11 with members Linda Koske, Mary Ann Pease, Tammy Merenda, Maureen Surnier, and Lee Myers present. The trustees unanimously approved November 2025 minutes and corrected a treasurer error: a donation recorded as $58,087.39 was actually $11,662.17.
Librarian Merenda reported that a burst hallway pipe has been repaired, but trustees discussed ongoing solutions to prevent future freezing, including a transom window or hallway heaters. Merenda has applied for $20,000 in additional grant funding and reported successful library card enrollment at Chester Elementary.
