misc · Meeting of January 28, 2026
Chester Water Commission reviews watershed and operational priorities. Members Lora Wade, Craig Gauthier, Bob Daley, Veronica Marr, and Jim Zimmerman discussed a potential 40-acre parcel purchase near Horn Pond for watershed protection, with Bob Daley reporting that Dave Johnson of Becket is in contact with property owners about a possible town purchase. The commission approved work by MM & T Excavating on storm-damaged access roads, reviewed grant funding strategies, and determined that a proposed zero-based budget is not feasible given staffing constraints and operational uncertainty in water departments.
Security improvements and an upcoming operator training program were noted.
