Planning Board approves cell tower equipment swaps, requires camouflage compliance.
Planning Board · Meeting of June 30, 2026
CHESTER — Planning Board conditions Verizon Wireless cell tower upgrades on camouflage greenery. The board voted unanimously to require the addition of camouflage greenery to two monopole towers at 86 Route 20 and 613 Route 20 before approving special permits for equipment swaps--antennas, radio remote heads, and cable lines--that would not alter tower height or ground footprint. Member Nick Chiusano's motion passed 6-0, with the board directing SBA Communications to submit revised drawings and Radio Frequency Exposure reports.
The board also unanimously approved the Special Permit renewal for Chester Railway Station Caboose Glamping and granted final approval to the 39 Sylvester Hamilton Road cell tower after all compliance work was completed.
