Planning Board approves cell tower modification application, recommends village parking ordinance.

Planning Board · Meeting of April 2, 2026

CHESTER — Planning Board advances cell tower Special Permit and parking ordinance. Chair Elizabeth Massa introduced a modification to the 97 Old State Highway Verizon tower that would reduce transmitters from 15 to 6; the application requires abutting notice, two-week publication, and a Public Hearing before permits issue. The Board voted 5–0 to recommend that the Town Administrator draft a Village Parking Ordinance and convene an ad hoc committee with the Police Chief, Fire Chief, and town representatives to address recurring traffic hazards on Maple Street and Andrews Avenue.

The Board also advanced a revised Poultry bylaw allowing chickens on properties of five acres or larger, with a Public Hearing estimated for March 18, 2026.
