Planning Board approves cell tower permit, schedules bylaw hearings.

Planning Board · Meeting of May 22, 2026

CHESTER — The Chester Planning Board unanimously approved a Special Permit for a cell tower at 97 Old State Road that will reduce transmitter count from 15 to 6, and deferred public hearings on amendments to trailer, glamping, fence, and poultry bylaws pending consolidation of ongoing revisions. Chair Liz Massa noted the board will coordinate multiple regulatory updates, including strengthened setback and screening requirements for residential trailers and a fence bylaw revision to meet state standards after concerns emerged over substandard pallet-fence repairs on Middlefield Road. No hearing dates were set.
