CHESTER — Select Board approves three motions unanimously at March 23 session. The Board appointed Bob Daley and Veronica Marr to the Open Space Plan Committee, authorized PVPC to submit the FY26 Community Development Block Grant application jointly with Huntington covering water main engineering design, housing rehabilitation, and social services, and accepted the Hilltown Community Ambulance contract with a less-than-two-percent increase. Superintendent Dr.
Matarazzo reported the school budget faces state funding reductions and rising expenses, with a 2.44 percent increase maintained by reducing stabilization contributions; if the budget fails to pass, the School Committee will reconvene to consider program cuts including music, woodworking, and counseling services.
