Chester Water Commission discusses system infrastructure and rate increases. The five-member commission heard updates on ongoing facility work by Limited Budget and MM & T, including water treatment plant improvements and a partially completed access road at Horn Pond. Members including Bob D., Andrew A., and Craig G. debated operational funding mechanisms and addressed snow-plowing access to the plant, with Craig G. proposing a joint Highway/Limited Budget arrangement.
The commission identified needs for 800 feet of 8-inch pipe at Horn Pond, certified dam inspection, and possible rate increases to fund these infrastructure requirements. Planning also included grant pursuit with UMass and SCADA system coordination with ITS.
