CMELD approves working capital trust with MMWEC for expanded services.

CHESTER — The Chester Municipal Electric Light Department Commissioners unanimously approved establishment of a working capital trust account with Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company (MMWEC) for expanded joint action services. Chairman Deryck Savoy, Commissioner Lori Fieldstad, and Commissioner Beth Lansing voted to authorize CMELD Administrator Rosanne McClaflin to sign related contracts once the capital trust account is formally approved. The board also unanimously rejected merging CMELD with the Town of Chester Water Department and approved McClaflin's access to Softright software and attendance at MMWEC training.
A proposal by Craig Gauthier to share a dumpster between CMELD and the Highway Department was referred for cost-savings analysis.
