Finance Committee reviews tax collector and town clerk budgets; Police and COA presentations pending further review

misc · Meeting of May 1, 2026

Chester Finance Committee defers action on departmental budgets pending additional records. The Tax Collector and Police Chief each requested a 3 percent cost-of-living adjustment and 2 percent performance review increase; the Police Chief said she would accept those terms. Council on Aging Director Kersten Broman requested a 12 percent salary increase, prompting committee members to request additional financial documentation on COA accounts before deciding.

The Committee will reconvene 4/23/2026 to review the full budget and prepare recommendations for the Board of Selectmen.
